Words come from the ENABLE word list, which is in the public domain.

Word frequency (common and rare words)

Common and rare word rankings use wordfreq by Robyn Speer, released under the Apache licence, with data files under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence (licence). Its data is derived from these sources:

Google Books Ngrams (books.google.com/ngrams), the Leeds Internet Corpus (University of Leeds Centre for Translation Studies), Wikipedia, ParaCrawl, OPUS OpenSubtitles 2018 (originating from the OpenSubtitles project), and the SUBTLEX word lists created by Marc Brysbaert and colleagues. SUBTLEX is freely available data. Some additional statistics come from public posts on Twitter, which are not displayed or republished here.

Pronunciation

Syllable counts and rhymes use the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary from Carnegie Mellon University.
